I went here last night and met some Finnish friends I haven't seen in ages! Susanna had an art installation here in a room full of her paintings and art. This work was my favorite:
This DJ played the most eccentric collection of music I've ever heard in my life. They didn't call it a surrealistic party for nothing :)
Here Susanna takes her painting skill on a gentleman with a tail.
She painted me too, with an earthy feel:
Nitai and Olli, our sweet hitchhikers from Turku.
The place was decorated beautifully.
We went upstairs and chilled out on the couches, played guitar, drummed on papercups, and sang the Hare Krishna mantra, Bob Marley, hilarious blues with improvised lyrics, grunge-kirtan and whatnot. Downstairs they had a meditative performance going on.
Today is my last day in Finland. And it's been delightful so far! We had a rocking hoop jam with Marianne, Jenni and Kaisu earlier and now it's evening and I'm sitting by the fireplace and singing with Kaisu and Mani. We recorded some of it, I'll put it up here later. It sounds pretty fairyish let me tell you :)

Looking forward for your fireplace recordings :)
Wow, that seemed like such an awesome gathering. I would have loved to go. Since Im already commenting on this post, I just wanted to say, too, that I hope you and your hubby get your Balarama fixed. It can be unpleasant when your car breaks down. Im glad that you found such a nice person who will let you guys crash until you can get your van back. Glad to see some more posts coming from you. I always enjoy reading them. Talk to you later. Peace
Wow these photos show what a beautiful time you had!!! So colourful, like all your adventures :)
Marianne, it just so happens that I am working on the fireplace recording right now, trying to cut it (it's like 10 minutes long) and yeah I'll put it up here as soon as I figure out how to do that!
Spin Gypsy, thanks, we just got Balarama back, it's not all over yet but it's drivable and hopefully we'll get to North Carolina in a couple of weeks to get it further fixed by Philip's veggie car friend/mechanic. Last night we arrived in Maine and had to sleep in the freezing weather in the van because we couldn't keep our heater on (the car had not been running for such a long time that there was no electricity left to run the propane furnace thing we have set up). But now it's all good, and warm :) Do you have any plans when you'll be visiting somewhere down here next, around Christmas or anything? I would hate to lose the opportunity see you one more time :D
Simone, thanks dear!! <3
